We spent Christmas Eve at home here in Covington and it was very nice to be home. On that morning, we baked cookies for Santa and I made a pot of soup to have for dinner later on that night. After dinner, the children received gifts from me and Brandon. Emma Tucker got a nutcracker, Walker got a Santa and Will got a water globe. Those are the items we have decided on each of them collecting over the years. Will was so excited about his water globe so I quickly placed it on the counter so it wouldn't get broken. Yeah right! Walker climbed up on a stool and threw it on the floor. It shattered everywhere and was a big bummer for our Christmas eve. Oh well... things could be a lot worse. I guess we need to replace Will's water globe one day for him. Brandon said we would just buy him 2 next year.

The children sure enjoyed themselves on Christmas morning. Emma Tucker got a car and a microwave for her kitchen. The boys got a basketball goal and a tricycle too. Santa left bubble bath, socks, crayons and a movie in their stockings. We sure hope Santa was good to you all too!

Magical Nights of Lights

Thursday, Mom and I went to Gainesville to get Mason to take him to Lake Lanier with us to the Christmas lights. We met Brandon after work at Cracker Barrel for an early dinner and then all piled in the van to go see the lights. I had no idea there would be so much to do there. I thought we would see some lights and come home. But oh no, they had a carnival, play, nativity, shopping and more! The children really enjoyed themselves. We only got Emma Tucker out at the live nativity. She said, "Look mom, baby Jesus"! It sure does my heart good to see her recognize Jesus in different settings. After we finished looking at the lights, we roasted marshmallows (I had to make myself a smore) and did a little shopping. Well, Gamma and I did. Brandon didn't care for the shopping so he took all the boys outside to walk around. By now, Emma Tucker was asleep so we decided to go ahead and leave. When we got to the car she woke up and wanted to go ride some rides. So, we walk back and let Emma Tucker and Mason ride the carousel and all the children rode the train. When we left, Emma Tucker said, "That was fun!". It made the whole night worthwhile! Thanks Gamma for going with us.... we had a blast!

Emma Tucker's Christmas Party

Yesterday, was Emma Tucker's Christmas party at preschool. They wore their pajamas and watched the Polar Express. For snack, they decorated sugar cookies and had a book exchange with each other. However, mom got there too late and missed the party. Luckily, I had left my camera there and Miss Heather took some pictures for me. When we got home Emma Tucker helped me make homemade chicken and dumplings for dinner. Since we had flour everywhere, we rolled biscuits in the shape of gingerbread men, Christmas trees, candycanes and stockings. The biscuits were okay, but the dumplings sure were good! After dinner, we went back to church to sing Christmas carols. Check back tomorrow because we are going to Lake Lanier Islands tonight to see the Christmas lights. Hopefully, we will get some good pictures tonight!
