Yesterday, Brooke brought her kids over to play for a while and here are some pictures of the Emma Tucker and Harlie. Also, Danelle brought her new baby over today and Emma Tucker wanted to hold and feed him the whole time they were here.

There hasn't been much going on around here lately but the usual. The kids and I have been staying home lately and playing. They keep me on my toes and laughing a lot. One minute they can be wrestling with each other and the next minute laughing. While I am typing (they are supposed to be napping) Emma Tucker and Walker are trying to talk to each other and laughing. Yesterday, Emma Tucker did something just priceless to me. She was outside with Brandon and she came and knocked on the front door. As I opened it, she fell in the house. However, she didn't miss a beat. She looked up at me.. grinned... and handed me a flower. I have to say my heart melted right then and there. Of course, this morning they have been into the same old stuff. I couldn't find Emma Tucker for a minute and she was in the dryer. The boys had shut the door but she didn't seem to care. A few minutes ago I looked up and Walker was standing in one of our chairs jumping up and down. I had no idea he could climb up into the chairs. I guess when you make it hard for them to get into things they find other things to get into. We turned our cabinets around backwards so they couldn't get into them so I guess now we will climb on chairs. Anyway, here are a few snapshots of them playing the past few days.

Survival of the Fittest

Let the games begin! Emma Tucker has always been a little rough with the boys, but now the boxing gloves are on. The boys are starting to fight with each other and it cracks us up. Earlier today Will had a toy and Walker decided he wanted it. I looked down and Walker was on Will's back and then he had a handfull of hair in his hands too. Of course, Will let out a scream, but I have to say it was kinda of funny. A few hours later it happened again, but this time it was over the bottle. This is when they usually fight..eating time. They will steal each other's bottle while they are trying to eat. Tonight I ran and grabbed the camera to capture a few of these priceless moments. I only had one bottle made at first so it was a constant tug of war of who was getting the first bottle. I hope you can get enjoyment out of these pictures as much as we do. We can't get upset when they fight so we just laugh. I guess boys will be boys!

Sunday, June 15

On Thursday, we took the kids down to Sylvania to spend the weekend. Mom said they behaved themselves very well. Friday, Brandon and I drove up to Charlotte, N.C. for the weekend. Laura and John invited us to a marriage retreat for coaches. We had a wonderful time and met lots of really neat people. Today we met mom and dad in Augusta to get the kids back. Anyway, when we got home tonight Walker took a few steps toward Brandon. He walked from the coffee table to Brandon in his chair. It was only a few steps, but it was steps! Yeah Walker! What a great father's day gift! The boys both move so fast. He practically runs the length of the couch holding on to it. Mom said if they were in a crawling contest they would definitely win!

Believe it or not, but we took all three kids to Six Flags yesterday. I will have to admit it was much better than I expected it to be. We didn't have to wait in line at all and the weather was not too bad. Brandon's family was meeting at Six Flags so I decided to take the boys and join them. The kids did pretty good. The only time I thought we were going to have to leave was when we discovered I had forgotten to take their cereal for their bottles. However, they did okay with it and we made it through the day. Emma Tucker was a little skeptical at first of the rides, but she eventually warmed up to the idea. She was a real good sport when her parents put her on rides she wasn't that sure of.

Vacation Bible School

Miss Priss and the All you can eat buffet…. Well, that pretty much sums up our kid’s vacation! Miss Priss (Emma Tucker) loved the beach, but she sure didn’t want to get dirty. The first day she almost had a fit when her water shoes got sand on them. She would stick them in the water to rinse them off and immediately try to stand in the sand but needless to say they would get dirty again. She continued with this pattern until she decided to just sit in someone’s lap. We took a kiddie pool down on the beach and Emma Tucker would play in it, but we had to pick her up to get her out. Miss Priss would clap her hands and then hold up her arms for you to pick her up. The boys on the other hand just saw the beach as an all you can eat buffet! Every time we would turn around we saw the boys with a sandy mouth. I would have to say the favorite place to play was the indoor pool and Mom and Dad would have to agree. It is a lot of work to go down to the beach with three little ones. It would take us three trips down to the beach to get everything down there we would possibly need. As we drove in on Wednesday, we took the kids to the Gulf Beach Zoo. We quickly learned a lesson…. Never go to the zoo in the summer. It was hotter than hell and it didn’t smell very appealing. We only stayed about an hour. On Saturday night we took the kids to Lulu’s Restaurant. That was my favorite place we went to in Orange Beach. The atmosphere was awesome and it is a great place for kids. This week Brandon and I reaffirmed our belief about not having alcohol around kids. Brandon made strawberry daiquiris (virgin) and when Emma Tucker walked into the condo she went nuts! She has never seen a blender or an daiquiri but she knew she wanted what was in the blender. She wouldn’t do anything until she had some. I finally put some into a sippy for her and she even took it into the tub with her. At Lulu’s Emma Tucker also wanted mom’s pina colado. Once again it was a good thing is was virgin b/c she loved it! She is definitely my daughter… She hates getting dirty and loves fruity drinks! We also took her into a souvenir shop and all she wanted to do was try on shoes. She could care less about the toys, but loves the shoes! Once again… my daughter! Today Brandon said she is exactly the way he figured my daughter would be… likes her clothes but still has her scraped up knees.
The boys were great down here also. They slept well and enjoyed them themselves everywhere we went. They loved chillin and floating in the pools. Today we ate lunch at Lambert’s on the way out and Will thought he had died and gone to heaven when he got some table food. I wish I could have captured his smile every time he would put some food in his mouth. His whole face lit it. It was priceless. However, I guess in the end they were not ready for it… both boys threw up at the table after we fed them. No big deal… just another lunch with the Myhand clan. We are riding home now and we hope the kids cooperate. If so… vacation definitely agrees with my kids!

10 months old today!

Can you believe it? The twins are 10 months old today and they look about 18 months! We have been taking it easy around here or I could say chasing three children daily. The three of them are always getting into mischief and Emma Tucker is the ring leader. Our house is baby proofed as much as I know how. There are no lamps anymore... nothing on the coffee table... no magazines.. pictures... books.. etc... However, they are still getting into things. Our cabinets have child-proof locks (some are a joke.. they can still open them). We have some furniture we can't figure out how to child proof except by emptying the drawers completely (which is exactly what the kids do). Needless to say, our house looks like a tornado at all times. The baby gates were moved the other day when we were showing the house and the next thing we knew all three were climbing upstairs. They do keep us on our toes.
Today, I took the boys back to their GI doctor at Scottish Rite. Everything seems to be going okay. We are going to try re-introducing soy into their diet to see how their stomachs take it. In a few weeks we can start to introduce some protein if they do okay with the soy. They are going to stay on Elecare until they are at least one. They weighed 24 lbs today so they are definitely not failing to thrive anymore. Hopefully they will be dismissed soon if they continue to do well as we introduce more foods into their diets. The occupational therapist said she thinks Will will probably be dismissed from O.T. by the end of the summer. She is going to start seeing him every other week to see if he continues to make progress and not fall behind. If so, then we will be dismissed.
We will be leaving bright and early tomorrow morning to head to Orange Beach. Hopefully, I will be able to post pictures while we are down there! We can't wait. I haven't been on vacation since the summer before I was pregnant with Emma Tucker. This is the first summer in two years that I haven't been big and fat!
