Why the Myhands can't have an advent calendar

Tonight I went grocery shopping and thought I would be a cool mom this Christmas season. I bought a chocolate advent calendar and gingerbread house kit. When I got home Brandon put the advent calendar on top of the entertainment center. Sounds safe to me! Brandon and I went to the kitchen to finish putting up groceries and we noticed it got unusally quiet in the living room. Brandon came in to check on the children and Walker had a mouth full of chocolate! It must have fallen off the entertainment center because there is NO WAY he could reach it. SEVEN pieces were missing and Walker had at least SIX! Will had a little piece in his hand but Walker was covered in chocolate. He ran behind the chair to hide from Brandon. I was on the phone with Marcie and I started cracking up. She asked me if I spanked him but I was too busy laughing at him. Brandon was more aggravated because he had just finished bathing him. According to Walker's advent calendar we are 7 days closer to Christmas than I thought. I am not so sure about this Gingerbread House idea anymore.

waiting to go ride the train

Black Friday was an exciting day for the Myhands! Brandon and I got up at 4:00a.m. this morning to go Walmart with all the other crazy folks trying to get a good deal. Well, we succeeded. We were able to get the much anticipated power wheels, a GPS for Brandon and a few other goodies. Afterwards, we went home and got the children ready to go to Calera, AL to ride the train. We took a train ride through the North Pole and back. Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus boarded the train in the North Pole and came and visited with all the children on the train. Emma Tucker was so excited until Santa Claus reached our seats. However, she did manage to tell Santa Claus she wanted a car for Christmas before running away from him. Mrs. Claus gave all the children a stuffed animal before leaving. The children really enjoyed the train ride. Thanks Pops and Grandmother for the special treat. Afterwards we went to lunch and did a little more shopping with Grandmother.

Will's version of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". He thinks he is a big boy singing like his big sister!

Emma Tucker's version of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". When she first started singing it it was so sweet and innocent. We still love her singing, but she is becoming more bold and confident in her voice. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Myhand Thanksgiving

We are in Alabama for Thanksgiving. Here are a few pictures of the children this morning.

Clifton Thanksgiving

Last Saturday we had Thanksgiving with the Cliftons in Newnan. This year the theme was babies! We had 6 babies two and under. I provided half of the entertainment with my family. Our visist was short because the Myhands do not stay anywhere for too long!

Christmas on the Square

Last week we went downtown to the annual lighting of the Christmas tree on the square. Emma Tucker could not wait to ride the "horsie" (horse drawn carriage) so we got to ride it around the square. We walked along and enjoyed some hot chocolate and the Christmas lights before it got too cold!

All I want for Christmas

Ok... I stole this idea from Julie's blog. Julie you crack me up reading your blog. Anyway, for those of you who don't know all Emma Tucker wants for Christmas is a car. Not a matchbox car, but one that she can drive. Everytime you mention Santa she says she wants a car. We've told her we were not sure if Santa could afford those cars, but she could ask. Now we have a dilemna...we have to find her a car because that is all she wants. Santa keeps looking for a good deal, but can't seem to find ones that meet his budget.
Everyone who will see us during the holidays we be amazed at how much Emma Tucker is talking now. I love it, but now she has an opinion about everything! The boys are running around like crazy and into everything just like big sis. Will's favorite word is "no" and Walker's favorite word is "juice".
The past month has been a bit hectic. We have had another round of viruses here and last week ear infections, coughing and runny noses. Will actually had RSV. We are well again, but I am back to not taking them anywhere because we catch everything going around. Since school started, we have had strep, the virus twice (which amounts to about one month) and now RSV. I should buy stock in Lysol. The best part about all of it is the lack of sleep I am getting. Since they have been sick, noone wants to sleep alone anymore.
