1st 24 hours in Daytona

Last Saturday, we woke up early and headed down to Daytona. First, we made a stop in Sylvania to drop off Bentley and the boys. Mom, Dad and the twins were coming down on Sunday and letting Brandon and me go ahead and get unpacked. Saturday night we went to Boondocks for dinner and then to Wal-mart grocery shopping. Sunday was a fairly relaxing day on the beach with just one child to watch. Emma Tucker still wasn't so sure of the beach. She does not like to get her feet dirty, but I can't blame her. She prefers staying up at the pool if she can have her way.

On Thursday of our trip to Florida, we ventured over to Orlando and took the children to Seaworld. They had a great time and behaved excellent too! We were able to see an Elmo and Abby Caddaby show, Shamu, and a Sea Lion show during the day. We took them to see the dolphins, penguins, manatees, seals, alligators, Clydesdale horses, sea turtles, etc. to just name a few. It did rain some during the day, but the children were troopers and did awesome. Our favorite thing of the day was going to see Shamu! I was able to get a few good pictures of the trainers swimming with them also. When we were leaving Seaworld, Brandon and I wanted to do something fun for dinner. Thank goodness for our GPS! We typed in Margaritaville and it just popped right up for us. We drove over to City Walk (right outside of Universal Studios) and went to dinner over there. The food and atmosphere was great and very fast too! While we were waiting on our food, a lady made Emma Tucker a balloon hat that looked like a palm tree. The boys got dogs made out of balloons too. Theirs were not hats, but Walker tried putting his on his head too.

Picnic on the Square

Every Thursday in May, there are concerts on the square in Covington. Today, Ashley, Holly and I were going to meet at the square and have a picnic with the girls. Will and Walker were at school for their last time this year. The band got moved inside because of the weather and it ended up raining on us. We did manage to get our sandwiches eaten first though.

Today, was Emma Tucker's end of the school year party. First, they got to jump on the bouncy for a while and they loved that! It was the todder version, so it was the perfect size for them. Next, we went back into the classroom for lunch and aftwards, we put them into wagons and strollers and walked downtown to Scoops for icecream. Emma Tucker just kept saying she wanted pink! So, she got fresh strawberry icecream to eat. After eating ice cream, we walked back to school and Ms. Heather and Ms. Jenny gave them their end of the school year gifts. I can't believe another year has come and gone. We are really going to miss everyone over the summer!

Tuesday morning the boys had their end of the year party. They were supposed to have water day also, but it was too cold for them to do it today. They had Chick-fil-A for lunch and got beach balls, sand buckets and bubbles from their teachers.

Aunt Sandra sent the children some adorable t-shirts to wear at the beach next week. Walker's has a crab on it, Will's has a lobster and Emma Tucker's is an octopus. Thanks Aunt Sandra!

Water fun

This afternoon the kiddos got to play with their water table for the first time. Gamma and Poppy gave it to them for Easter, but we haven't had a chance to play with it before today. Here are a few pictures of them trying out their new toy.

Spring Game

Friday night, Collins Hill had their spring game at the end of spring practice. Mom and I took the children to the game and it rained a little bit. The children did okay considering they had to stay in the stroller the whole time. They were so cute yelling at their Daddy down on the field. At least, the eagles won!

Spring Fling

Friday morning, the children had Spring Fling at church. I booked Gamma awhile back to come and help me on this day. Thank goodness she was available and could come and help me. I couldn't have done it without her. I had to help set up and clean up and Mom was able to bring the children on home for their naps. They enjoyed eating snowcones (without any flavor thanks to Mom), cotton candy, throwing balls, fishing and just watching all the children. The had a big blow-up slide that was kinda like a rockwall that you had to climb up. Emma Tucker had so much determination to get to the top. She would reach and try so hard, but couldn't make that last leg of the climb. Since she refused to give up and get off, I finally took off my shoes, climbed in and gave her that last little push she needed to be able to slide. Emma Tucker got tattoes of pink monkeys and princess crowns. She also got a pink football painted on her hand. Will got a football star tattoo on his arm and Walker wouldn't let them near him. They had a blast and as we left, Emma Tucker said, "I had fun at my party. Bye party."

Stone Mountain

Brandon's family came to visit us Saturday night and Sunday. On Saturday, we decided to try out a new restaurant in Covington for lunch. It was pretty good, but I prefer Milanos in Conyers better. Brandon thought it would be fun to take his family to Stone Mountain Saturday night for the laser show. We packed a picnic and headed over to Stone Mountain Saturday afternoon. Randy was hungry so we ate dinner first. Afterwards, we walked over to the train because Emma Tucker really wanted to ride. It was the last train ride of the night so they let us hop on at the last minute for free. Yeah! I think it helped that Emma Tucker got upset when they said it was too late to ride. The children enjoyed the train ride and Walker even fell asleep at the end. They got really anxious and ready to go before the lasershow began. Halfway through, it began to rain a little. By the time we had finished packing up our stuff to leave, it stopped raining. However, the children were ready to go so we went on to the car and left Brandon's family to watch the light show. Everyone really seemed to enjoy the night! Yeah!

Saturday morning we got up and went to 4J Farms to pick strawberries! What a great morning to be out picking strawberries it turned out to be. The weather was perfect! Everyone acted just as expected. Will held the basket, stood right beside us, and said "Thank you" everytime someone put a strawberry in the basket. Walker put strawberries in his mouth, spit them out, and sat in the middle of the patches. Emma Tucker understood which strawberries could be picked, picked a few and ran off and did her own thing. Towards the end, she ran ahead of us and ran right into some mud! Emma Tucker can not stand her feet dirty! She will not even get her water shoes wet at the beach. She started screaming that her feet were buried in the mud. Brandon and I couldn't keep from laughing at her poor soul. The kind man who owns the strawberry patch wiped her feet clean for her. Once we got home, I tried my hand at making strawberry jam and strawberry pie. I've decided I love picking strawberries and can't wait to go again next year!
