Ephesians 4:29: Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs; that it may benefit those who listen.

Check out Beth Moore's blog on my favorites list to see what incentive she is now offering all of us who are memorizing scripture throughout the year. It's pretty cool and it will be under her March 15 blog. It is livingproofministries.blogspot.com

March 1 Scripture

Matthew 6:34
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Big Church

The kids and I spent this past week in Sylvania since they were on winter break. We went to see Mimi on her birthday, went shopping and just hung out. Today, Mom called us as we were getting ready for church to tell us that Debra asked Emma Tucker to come to the children's sermon in big church. For those of you who know me well, know I have never ventured anywhere quiet with Emma Tucker. Her inquisitive and lively personality lends itself to ballfields, playgrounds or anyplace that noise is the norm. Mom was thrilled because she has been on us to take her places so she will learn to sit still. Ok... we did and I realize there has to be a first for everything. Before church, I was explaining to her we had to sit still in our seats like we did when we went to see Elmo live. Wrong example to use... she started standing up and saying ''Where's Elmo? I can't see Elmo". Brandon manages to get her calmed down after trying to run around the balcony for a little bit when Gamma walks in to play the prelude. While Gamma is playing the organ Emma Tucker stands up, waves, and yells " Gamma! Hey Gamma!" over and over. The choir is all laughing at her but Gamma never hears her this time. Later on when it got quiet again, she yells down at her again! It is so hard to fuss at her because I am cracking up at her along with everyone else. I was just thinking... Hey Gamma! This was your idea! Anyway, we make it through the prayer and the first hymn and it is time for the children's sermon. Debra is using the cell phone as an example so of course Emma Tucker makes a bee line (climbing over all the children) to get to the phone. She gets it and stands there dialing as many numbers as she can until Debra thinks she probably should get her phone back. Now, Emma Tucker needs something else to do. Her new focus is on the microphone and I start sweating bullets! What is she going to say? Well, she just grabs the microphone starts saying "Hey!" She does that twice and makes it through the rest of the children's sermon. As they are supposed to be leaving in an orderly fashion, she grabs the microphone one last time and says, "bye". Boy am I glad our church doesn't do children's sermons!

Scripture Time

It's the 15th, and I haven't been sure what scripture I wanted to memorize was going to be. Tonight, my bible study class went to Faithworks to clean the building, take food to the food pantry and pray over the homeless shelter. It was really neat to see what opportunites are right down the road from my house. Most of us in the group had no idea where these places were before tonight. Anyway, when we left we were to pull a blessing out of the blessing jar. The scripture I pulled was: Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? I thought I would just use this verse since I happened to be given it tonight. I was thinking it may be a little short, but it is a pretty powerful message.

Picnic at Tribble Mill

On Sunday, we took the children to Tribble Mill Park in Grayson for a picnic. When we realized it was going to be such a beautiful day we decided we would go to the early service at church and head to the park afterwards. Brandon stopped at Kroger and picked us up some food to eat. We met Kevin, Amy and Brooke at the park for lunch. I think everyone else had the same idea because it was so crowded. The kiddos had a blast running around playing ball, eating, eating, and eating and playing.

Emma Tucker and the birthday girl Harlie

Emma Tucker went to Harlie's birthday party this morning at Rockdale Gymnastics. She had a blast playing on the blowups, trampoline, zipline, running wild, and eating cupcakes to name just a few. Here are a few pictures from her morning of fun. We are going to another birthday party this afternoon so look for my pictures later.
